- The problem
- Automated Controls has programmed PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for food, water, and manufacturing plants since 2000. Its website dated back to the early 2000s and was made with an older site builder, so it wasn't set up for phones and no longer reflected the company's experience. Its services were all listed on the home page rather than having pages of their own, which left little room to explain what each one involved.
- What I did
- I rebuilt the site with a page for each of the company's seven services, plus its industries, the platforms it works with, and its past projects. The copy was written from the company's own overview and project abstracts, with each claim checked against that material before launch. Anyone following an old link still lands on the right page, and the contact form sends the team the message and the visitor a confirmation.
The outcome
On page one of Google for 20+ local searches when searching from Tampa, FL, including “industrial automation tampa” and “plc programming tampa.”

The client
Automated Controls of Tampa is an industrial automation firm. It has programmed PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for food, water, and manufacturing plants since 2000.
The challenge
The existing website dated back to the early 2000s. It was made with an older site builder and wasn't set up for phones, and the design no longer reflected the company's more than two decades of experience.
The company's services were all listed on the home page rather than having pages of their own, so there was little room to explain what each one involved.
The approach
I rebuilt the site with a page for each of the company's seven services, plus its industries, the platforms it works with, and its past projects.
The copy was written from the company's own overview and project abstracts, and I checked each claim against that material before launch.
Anyone following an old link still lands on the right page. The contact form sends the team the message and the visitor a confirmation.
