Performance

Sites That Load Fast

Most small business websites score poorly on Google PageSpeed, and that costs you traffic and customers. Every site I build is optimized from the ground up so you're not leaving business on the table.

  • Fast load times mean lower bounce rates and more visitors actually converting into customers.

  • Page speed is a ranking factor. A faster site helps you show up higher in Google search results.

  • Every site I build targets a sub-second load time to ensure speed is never a limitation.

Process

About The Process

Five clear phases from first call to launch.

Starts with a one-on-one call to discuss your goals, audience, and the purpose of your website. This is where I learn what sets your business apart and what success looks like for you. By the end, you'll have a clear picture of the plan, and I'll have everything needed to put together a detailed proposal.

Free 30-Minute Call

A no-pressure conversation with no commitment required to get started.

No Prep Needed

Just bring your ideas. A few reference sites or competitor examples help, but nothing is required.

Proposal to Follow

After the call, you'll receive a detailed proposal with goals, scope, timeline, and pricing.

Once the proposal is approved, planning begins. I outline your site structure, content needs, project timeline, and relevant competitor insights. Before design begins, you'll know exactly which pages are being built, what content is required, and when each milestone will be delivered.

Site Structure & Content Map

Every page planned before design begins so nothing gets missed.

Keyword Research

I review what others in your space are doing so your site is positioned to stand out.

Flexible Until Design Begins

Priorities shift, and adjustments to the plan are easy to make before design work starts.

With the plan approved, I move into design. This phase is about establishing the right visual direction for your brand and getting alignment on the look and feel. You'll review mockups, share feedback, and sign off on the direction before development begins.

Unlimited Revisions

No revision caps within reason. Refinements continue until you're completely happy with the look and feel.

Brand Direction First

Colors, fonts, and visual style are locked in early so there's a clear direction going into development.

No Brand Assets Required

I can work with what you have or suggest colors, fonts, and visuals that fit your goals.

Once the design is approved, development begins. I build using modern, high-performance tools like Next.js and Tailwind CSS, ensuring your site loads fast, looks great on every device, and follows SEO best practices. You'll receive progress updates and can preview the site in a private test environment before launch.

Performance-Optimized

Built with Next.js and Tailwind. Includes a third-party speed report after development.

Third-Party Integrations

Connect analytics, contact forms, booking tools, and email marketing platforms.

CMS Option with Sanity

Need to edit content yourself? I can integrate Sanity for easy, ongoing content management.

The launch phase is where everything comes together. Before going live, I thoroughly test your website across devices, browsers, and screen sizes to ensure everything performs flawlessly. I handle deployment, hosting setup, and performance configuration so your site launches smoothly.

Managed Hosting

Reliable, fast hosting with SSL, monitoring, backups, and light ongoing support.

Business Email Setup

Get Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 configured with your custom domain.

Analytics Connected

Google Analytics or similar tools set up so you can track traffic from day one.

How much does a small business website cost?

Pricing starts at the figures listed in the pricing section on this page. Which tier fits depends on how much of the site is designed from scratch and how much research goes into it, since every business has different goals, competitors, and technical requirements. After a short discovery call, you'll receive a proposal outlining scope, timeline, deliverables, recommendations, and investment, so you'll know exactly what's involved before making a decision.

How is working with you different from hiring an agency?

With an agency, you're often paying for overhead: account managers, project coordinators, and developers you never speak to. As a small business yourself, that's the last thing you need. I work with a small number of clients at a time and handle everything myself. You get direct access to the person doing the work, faster communication, and a site that's been thought through carefully rather than handed off down a chain.

Why not just use Squarespace or Wix for my small business?

Those tools are built for ease of use, not performance or differentiation. You're working within their templates, their hosting, and their limitations, and so is every other small business using the same builder. A custom site can be designed around how your specific customers think and what they need to see before they call, book, or buy. That's difficult to accomplish with a drag-and-drop builder.

How long does a small business website take?

Most projects are completed in 2 to 4 weeks, but this varies drastically with scope. A focused site moves quickly, while a larger build with many pages and custom development takes considerably longer. Request a proposal for a realistic timeline specific to your project.

Can you help with local SEO and Google visibility?

Yes. Every project includes a local SEO foundation: proper page structure, fast load times, title and meta optimization, and schema markup where relevant. I can also help with Google Business Profile setup so nearby customers can find you.

Do you build new websites from scratch, or only redesigns?

Both. Some small business owners come with an existing site that isn't converting or ranking well. Others are starting from scratch with no website at all. Either way, the process starts the same: understanding your business, your customers, and what the site needs to do.

Do you provide hosting and maintenance?

Yes. I manage hosting for every client so you never have to deal with servers, deployments, or technical upkeep. Hosting and maintenance run as a flat monthly plan, and the exact figure is spelled out in your proposal before you commit to anything. Additional support can be arranged for clients who want more help after launch.
